Intense Arabica is the second release from The Macallan's limited annual series, The Harmony: a collection that draws its inspiration from the natural world. The Macallan's Whisky Maker Steven Bremner hosted a masterclass with world-renowned coffee masters to inform his creation and settled on the Ethiopian Arabica bean. Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, it's only fitting that this bean is used for Macallan's first coffee-inspired whisky. The precious liquid is encased in a sustainable recycled box, made using coffee bean husks that would have otherwise been discarded. At 44% abv, the dram was aged in sherry-seasoned casks to compliment the rich taste of coffee.
