Utilizing pure volcanic spring water and locally grown barley, Pōkeno carefully selects the best casks to mature their whisky, aided by the warm subtropical climate.
All of this allows Pōkeno to produce Single Malt whisky with exceptional body and flavor; whisky that captures the pure spirit of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Experience the unique taste of Pōkeno Distillery's Triple Distilled New Zealand Single Malt Whisky. With its triple distillation process, the alcohol is concentrated and creates a lighter, fruitier flavor. Using only two stills, the hearts are expertly separated from the heads and tails, resulting in a smooth and refined drink.
Pokeno Single Malt is known for its exceptionally smooth and sweet character, achieved through a slow distillation process that maximizes reflux in our stills. We carefully select only a small heart, representing approximately 20% of the distillation run, and then further distill it for an even higher quality product. The addition of an extra distillation takes our already impressive profile to the next level. This award-winning single malt is aged in top-quality first fill bourbon barrels, resulting in a superbly smooth, sweet, and honeyed flavor.
NOSE: Rich honey and vanilla with hints of citrus and toffee.
TASTE: Rich vanilla bean and butterscotch mingle with notes of sweet citrus and a hint of pepper clove.
FINISH: Long rich finish.
