Yoichi's distillery opened in 1936, the first from the Nikka group founded by Masataka Taketsuru. Located in Yoichi, Hokkaido, the climate resembles Campbeltown, Scotland, where Masataka studied distilling. Yoichi's whisky is made in direct coal-fired pot stills, creating a smoky peated whisky with a salty note from Ishikari Bay's breeze. This seasonal offering from Yoichi is rare, often only purchasable from the distillery. The Peated & Salty edition brings intense peat and smoke, crafted with high peated whisky components.
