This 2021 release of Kay Brothers Basket Pressed Shiraz displays their strongest quality yet. The wine has been aged for 12 months in a blend of French, American, and Eastern European oak, resulting in an impenetrable, inky black color with hints of deep red and black. On the nose, you'll find rich aromas of ripe blackberry, liquorice, and dark plum, complemented by toasty vanillin oak, earthy dark chocolate, and pepper notes. On the palate, the wine is full and smooth, with succulent notes of dark cherry, liquorice, and dark plum, balanced by a refreshing hint of blueberry, vanillin cedar, and spicy earth elements.
