As far back as 1865, Thomas Hardy pioneered the idea of blending grapes from different regions, believing that it would enhance the unique qualities of each region. This marked the beginning of our heritage of blending, with each blend receiving a distinctive code starting from A001. Produced with our 95-year-old basket presses, HRB Bin D662 Shiraz showcases the incredible results of blending across regions. Each region brings its own distinctive characteristics to the final product, creating a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts. McLaren Vale adds richness with a core of chocolate and black fruit, while Frankland River adds vibrancy with blueberry notes. Clare Valley brings complexity to the aroma and palate with hints of violets, pepper, and spice, all balanced by toasted vanillin oak for a long, refined finish.
