Our Vigneron Collection brings together outstanding vineyards and our unique winemaking style to showcase the best of each variety. Our Merlot has been named in honour of the first Barossa Merlot vineyard, planted by Grant Burge in 1982. This wine is a classic medium bodied Merlot produced by careful selection of fruit from vineyards across the Barossa. The fruit was crushed into static fermenters carefully extracted to achieve colour, flavour and balance. The wine was matured in a combination of French and American oak for 15 months before bottling. This Merlot represents a pure expression of the variety and the region, drinking well now and rewarding for those who will patiently cellar for the next 10 years.
