Master distillers with Bruichladdich present the Octomore series, an exquisite example of craftsmanship that is never repeated. Each bottling is meticulously crafted by Progressive Hebridean Distillers at their Islay location. Octomore 10.1 has a prominent vanilla aroma, along with caramelized notes and restrained smokiness. Further hints include candied apple, gooseberry, and marzipan. On the palate, it is both soft and powerful, with peppery and barley sugar flavors, plus a smoky dried-earth quality and faint rubber notes. Pleasant warmth lingers in the aftertaste, with the sweetness of charred oak and pineapple coming through.
