A.H. Hirsch Reserve 16 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey 1974 USA 750mL
A.H Hirsch Aged 16 Years is one of the bourbon Holy Grails and is quite simply a bourbon legend with a uniquely convoluted history, and an unlikely journey towards skyrocketing value. The bourbons story has been explored before, with Chuck Cowdery writing the book on the subject, literally: The Best Bourbon You'll Never Taste.
A.H. Hirsch 16 year old was distilled in 1974 at the historical Michters Distillery in Pennsylvania and released in 1990. This Bourbon was celebrated as the only post Prohibition pot still Bourbon in America. A perfect recipe of grain and rye, distilled in Michters small copper pot stills and 16 years of peaceful slumber in fine oak casks are the fundamentals that make A.H. Hirsch Reserve the magnificent spirit that it is.
This is an icon of American Spirits that is uncompromising in quality, depth and individual character, and the first Bourbon to receive a coveted 5 star spirit rating from F. Paul Pacults Spirit Journal.
Note: This particular vintage example is from the USA and is a 750mL gold foil bottle. Note the hangtag is missing but the spirit level is excellent. The label is good but not perfect.
