The Balvenie Madeira Cask is a lively and summery single malt finished in casks previously which previously held Madeira wine.

In historic times, ships set sail filled with casks of Madeira wine around the New World. Throughout their journey, casks were exposed to the heat of the sun, naturally sweetening the wine it held.

Malt Master David C. Stewart has enjoyed times exploring the Madeira region and wines they produce, inspiring his experimentation of the cask type for finishing.

This is not the first time David has used Madeira casks - previous expressions have been of older ages. This release has a lighter, livelier character. 

Expertly crafted with overflowing flavors of blackcurrants, brambles, and gingery syrup, layered with delicate spice. On the palate, ripe fruitiness of fresh peaches is complemented by a zesty citrus orange and a touch of hazelnut, finishing with a crisp oakiness that lingers.
